Singing mice? That sounds like something from a fairy tale! Indeed, Disney’s portrayal of musical mice, from the singing friends of Cinderella to the whistling Steamboat Willie, seems far from accurate. Interestingly enough, however, new research shows that mice actually do have their own courtship songs using ultrasonic frequencies, which may even rival the complexity of bird song.
